Cylinder Chapters follows the typology of a public interior staircase, in public library. The idea is to create a staircase that follows a functionalist logic rather than a utilitarian one. This staircase will serve as a giant concrete piece of furniture without specific destination.
Visitors will use this staircase as a reading and relaxation space. The steps are 35 centimeters long to allow users to sit down. The walls of the staircase serve as a giant library and niches for people to come and sit in a more private area. The guardrails are a concrete extension of the main structure.
